He received many medals, honors, and awards, including the Medal of Merit in Literature in 1974 AD, and he won the Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Award for Studies in the History of the Arabian Peninsula 2008-2009. He also won the Cultural Personality of the Year award in the year 2021 AD in the National Cultural Awards initiative from the Ministry of Culture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
