Travelers in ancient times:Arab travelers in the seventh and eighth centuries made a significant contribution to the culture of travel and world exploration as their travels opened new trade routes, allowed the exchange of goods, ideas and knowledge, and led to the emergence of new forms of exploration.
Arab travelers explored regions in Asia, Africa, Europe, and even parts of North America. They used traditional watercraft, sailboats, and ships to travel long distances. They also used caravans that enabled them to move through deserts.
Arab travelers were responsible for introducing new products such as rice, citrus fruits, sugar cane, and spices to Europe. They also brought silk from China and glass from Egypt. It was also common for Arab travelers to travel on pilgrimage.

The modern era of Arab travelers began in the late nineteenth century. At this time, many people from the Arab world began to explore the wider world. Among the most prominent travelers in this era were Muhammad al-Saffar, Muhammad al-Idrisi and Ibn Battuta
Muhammad al-Saffar was a Moroccan explorer who traveled to Latin America, Spain, and France from 1845 to 1847. He wrote about his experiences in a book titled Journey Through Europe.
Muhammad al-Idrisi was an Algerian explorer who traveled to Europe, North Africa, and parts of Asia between 1882 and 1884. He wrote about his travels in a book titled The Wonders of Travel.
Ibn Battuta was a Moroccan traveler who is considered one of the greatest travelers of all time. He is believed to have traveled more than 73,000 miles throughout Africa, Asia and Europe between the years 1325 and 1354. He wrote about his travels in a book titled “A Gift for Those Who Contemplate the Wonders of Cities and the Wonders of Travel.”
They brought back stories of their travels, which were then recorded in books that were widely read throughout Europe. This increased knowledge about places around the world.
